Faith

Where do we find it?
Through pain, loss, or hardship?
Through reflection?
Through sermons?

Is faith lagging for many, faltering when we are faced with trials?
Do some feel that God isn’t there for them?

On the flip side...

Do many feel that He can only be reached through attending church?
Do many feel as though only a priest can speak for Him?

”Yet will I not forget thee. Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of My hands, thy walls are continually before me...” - Isaiah 49:15-16.

God is present for whomever seeks Him! We must not feel that the church is the only place to hear His voice!

Step out into the natural world!

Look upon the trees, birds, and animals.
Feel the wind and the sun.

Marvel at the coming of a storm and the reassurance of a better day to come.

“We mustn’t worry about tomorrow, for God is already there!” - Unknown

“I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’” - Psalm 91:2

...

I have often thought about what my future holds. It’s tough being 29, still living at home and without a job.

But...

I have never lost hope that one day, I’ll be able to turn a passion, something I love, into a career. If so, I can finally leave behind all those long years of boredom and indolence.

I sometimes think of a song by the Lumineers, called “Nobody Knows”, which I first heard while watching “Pete’s Dragon (2016)”:

“Through the darkness to the dawn
And when I looked back you were gone
Heard your voice leading me on
Through the darkness to the dawn

Love is deep as the road is long
And moves my feet to carry on
It beats my heart when you are gone
Love is deep as the road is long...”

- song excerpt

It reminded me that even if I am alone, I never will truly be, for God is by my side, always.
A piece I was inspired to write from my book, "Finding my faith: 101 inspirational stories about life, belief, and spiritual renewal", and also from "Pete's Dragon" (2016).

Being a christian, something like this really does help during dark times! :)
